Critiques
That said, I do agree with the first critique on this page, that some of the textures seem a bit unvaried. Although the lich king is the main centerpiece of this work, he does not stand out as much as he should- especially on the top right, where that top edge blends into the tower instead of separating from it, and the bottom left, where the minute details of the orc stand out from the singular shape of the horse leg. The horse's mouth also looks like it is sucking in "mist" from...the background? And then directly under said mouth there is that tiny wizard who is almost holding it up. I think you've got the individual characters down, but there is still some work to be done on a composition of characters, especially with different shapes and sizes all vying for attention on the canvas. I also get the feeling that it is maybe a little too "bright". The lich king's cape is almost fuzzy, and I am not sure if you wanted mist or a dark fog. Some more grit and grime will really help the "dark/evil" effect.
This is a really good piece of work, and you definitely have some talent. A little more polish and some extra textures will go a long way to making a more complete artwork.
The other thing I noticed deals with the focus of the picture. To me, it seems like the figure and the fortress in the background are competing to be the focus, since they're so close to each other *
In the end, they're just little thing that would give it more *oomph*. Either way, it's still a fantastic peice
*My monitor can sometimes screw things up, so I may not be seeing it as it is. If that is the case, I apologize.
